Isn't it amazing how you can plan and plan and something completely changes your life (good or bad)?
Happened to us. We are expecting Mia Cheyenne sometime around the end of April and we couldn't be happier. So as a result the wedding is going to a very private/quick/intimate affair. Something like, me, him and someone at the Courthouse :)
I still would like to have a reception, but we'll see how that goes. It may be after little Mia gets here and can celebrate too!
I have decided that I need to start working on the wedding again. Probably a side effect from all of the peer pressure I have been getting. Plus I'm in a semi-creative mood.
So to start out, I thought about the save-the-date card...mainly because I received one in the mail from a dear friend of mine recently and I will probably need to send those out shortly after the first of the year.
I have a total of four I've "made" up right now. I'm going to make Shawn pick. Just because I'm mean. Plus, I can't really send them out or finalize them until I get the FINAL EDITS back from my favorite photographer. I'm pretty pathetic in that aspect too because James got me the pictures a long time ago and I am just now sending him back the list of my (our?) favorites. I'm a slacker. What else can I say?
But anyway, my big dilema with the save the dates are (in no particular order):

But anyway, my big dilema with the save the dates are (in no particular order):
- I'm creating these in a program that most would not consider. So with that being said, suffice to say that the fonts are not printing out how they look on the computer...and it's ticking me off.
- I can't pick which one I like.
- I still need to buy the paper I am going to print them off on. Or would it be bad to leave them on the 4x6 photo paper and print them off at Wal-Mart?
- I can't finalize it anyway because I don't have final edits and the offical copyright release yet.
- I have a new puppy and my two littles playing together tend to distract me from the planning that needs to be done. Would it be weird to have two puppy ring bearers?
So we went flea marketing last Saturday - a little later than I would have liked, but it was Saturday and we were lazy. I found some pretty cool glasses treasures...blah blah blah. Nothing new there. I did ask Shawn to keep me away from anything breakable because I was a nightmare that day. Everything I touched, I dropped. So seeing as how I didn't want to buy a bunch of broken "treasures," I asked him to keep me away. Luckily everything I bought was in one piece, unless it came in a set.
But as we were investigating this one location -which stunk - we stopped by this little resale place in Morristown that I've wanted to go to a while. And there is where I found the coolest treasure ever! It's a large lantern that I can use to put cards in at the wedding!!!! I've seen birdcages used, but that won't work with our theme, so the lantern is perfect. Everyone I've shown it to so far has loved it. But sorry friends, I haven't taken a picture of it yet. Hopefully I will one day soon so I can share. Shawn found a creepy cat he carried around with him the whole time we were there. It was life like and it freaked me out. Ugh. It took me forever to get him to put the thing down.
We went to the venue after our shopping trip and I got to show Shawn my vision of how things will work. Luckily, he loved it too! It needs to be cleaned up, obviously because of the leaves and such right now, but it's going to be even more perfect than I thought. I just have to set up the guest list and figure out the rest of the details. You know, bathrooms, etc. That's the only pitfall, there are no bathrooms down there, I would have to rent a port-a-potty (classy right). Thoughts on that? My aunt suggested I just have the reception down there and get married somewhere else, but that's not what I want to do...unless something perfect comes up. I have pictures and videos of the venue, but I'm keeping those to myself for now. Selfish I know. Love ya!

A friend of mine has offered to take some pictures of Shawn and I like this...
P.S. I don't think I'll get Shawn in skinny jeans, but wouldn't that be funny?
How fun is that!!!??? I can't wait to get this set up...
But here is where you come in. We need a place to do this. Concrete, old barn, some area where we could use washable paint (I promise we would clean it up) and re-create these pictures. We have a field beside the house that would be a lot of fun, but I think that they look great with the wall behind it. Help me!!

Since I can't obsess over my super awesome pictures from James yet, I have continued my Pinterest obsession. It's bad.
I have found a ton of stuff that I love...either by myself online and pinned or from other people's boards. I'll share some with you now:

Here are some of the pictures that I can't wait to get back from James. (Obviously, those above are not us...my profile is not that gorgeous, nor would I be caught dead in shorts that short).
I love the idea of having a fingerprint tree. I think there is nothing more precious than having our guests "sign" something that we can display for years and years as a reminder of how blessed we are. (Sorry I got sappy there)
I also love the idea of making my bouquet. Instead of using real flowers - making them either out of paper or fake petals or something. I have already bought one brooch in anticipation of trying out the white flower picture - maybe a little too much for the wedding I have pictured in my head, but the other two are pretty awesome. I might have to look up the last picture to see if there is a tutorial on that bouquet and practice, practice, practice!
Ok, that's enough for now - notice I am still avoiding the wedding dress issue? That's totally on purpose. Totally. Not that I'm not checking some out online, I am just avoiding them in person. I kinda hyperventilate just thinking about that.

P.S. That is not the same shirt I wore in the other pictures...almost the same color, but this one is much softer and flowy...and it covers my behind.
What an awesome, amazing time yesterday. Who knew it was so exhausting being sassy, fabulous and fun though? Obviously, I am talking about picture time with James.
Knoxville is full of funny, interesting and shocking people. Not that we didn't already know that, but it's just funny to get to experience it. And we definitely got to experience the "awkward" with James like he wanted.
Awkward 1: We started out taking pictures as the "bicycle gang" of downtown hovered around our personal belongings. Once they realized we weren't going to look away long enough for them to snatch and ride, they left us alone. Basically that happened when we went to pick it up and move on.
Awkward 2: We were taking pictures on a busy street and James was partially hidden by a booth. This guy saunters by RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA. Luckily, James was in between shots and couldn't catch it. Or unluckily...you choose. It was hilarious. Then he was really interested in this poster right beside our stuff and interestingly enough...our stuff. It was so so so so so so funny. Obviously.
There was the lady that basically leaned out of her car to check out our goods, the busy street, the random kid, the holes in the grass, the bicycle police, the wedding, the dog (we could pick her up if we wanted), and the random purse (that no one ever came back to claim).
Anyway, you get the idea. We had such a great time during our fun photos. I saw a couple that James taunted us with and I absolutely can not wait to see them all. LOVE IT!
